Does new media highlighight the representation of nothing?
Jean Baudrillard states that lines between the real world and the world of the media have collapsed; causing life and the internet to be blurred. As this occurs we get signs referring to others texts and information which we may see as just words or something we truly don’t understand or taken in therfore representing nothing.
Does the internet represent the trivial and mundane?
The internet possess many codes and resources that we can use to share things online and as people repeatedly do this information starts to get blurred and becomes useless showing that it is mundane as the readers/viewers are no longer interested and do not learn anything.
Are they symptomatic of a lack of depth associated with postmodern culture?
Postmodern culture doesn’t refer to anything real instead get signs referring to other signs-texts referring to other texts, presented with an endless network of links and click-bait articles, which becomes symptomatic as the links between everyday life and social media become blurred and meaningless.
